YPPG's primary goal is to reform the voting system by lobbying for a bill written by students in our leadership. This bill would lower the New York State voting age to 17, make it easier for students to register to vote in schools, and ensure that all high school juniors receive civics education in their history curriculum.
Working in conjunction with State Assemblyman Robert Carroll, YPPG has received the opportunity to go to Albany and lobby on behalf of the Vote-at-17 bill on the assembly floor. However, the help and attendance of students from across NYC, our own efforts will not be enough.
We ask that you join us for our first meeting on Thursday, March 30th at 5:30 at 38 W 86th St to learn how to lobby and to find out more about our upcoming trip to Albany. All are welcome, and snacks will be provided!
